The award ceremony will part of the closing ceremony of the IFMSA General Assembly Meeting on 6 March 2006 in Pucon, Chile.
Category: National Member Organization Awards
Best National Member Organization poster
Bring any poster promoting your national or local event that is planned for this year! Promote poster of any NMO activity that happened since October 2006 or will happen during this year. The most unique poster will be awarded!
Share your NMO promotional materials with fellow medical students around the world.
Best National Member Organization website
Update your website and have IFMSA to award your online presentation. The most attractive and up-to-date website will be awarded. The best possible award for your webmaster and entire National Member Organization team.
Best NMO publication
Bring samples of your local or national publications to IFMSA General Assembly! The jury will select the best NMO publication of IFMSA! It can be anything from magazine, leaflet, diary, calendar…etc.
Selection procedure: The jury will include two IFMSA Executive Board members, two IFMSA newcomers (MM2006 will be their first General Assembly Meeting) and one member of the MM2006 Organizing Committee.
The NMO poster and publications will be displayed during the entire March Meeting 2006 in the plenary room and awards will be announced during the award ceremony.

Category: Projects awards
All IFMSA Official projects are eligible for the following awards:
IFMSA Health Campaigns project award
The project that raises awareness on specific population group problems, health care related issues and improvements could be nominated for this award.
IFMSA Village Concept Project award
The IFMSA Village Concept projects have a continuous character and are carried out in specific community, which is in the need of help. The project is multisectorial, includes e.g. health, agriculture, education, and hygiene sectors and is organized in collaboration with the local community and supported by local/national government (of hosted country).
IFMSA Education project award
The project nominated for this category should aim to improve students’ health education, focusing on the gaps of medical curriculum and future physicians training.
IFMSA Community health projects award
The project that will be awarded in this category should aim to improve the health conditions, life style and well being of the community, covering various population groups (including children, disabled people, senior citizen, homeless people, peer-education projects, etc.).
Selection procedure:
All General Assembly participants will be involved in the awards selection.
The projects will be selected based on presentation, presented to all Assembly participants. Delegates will be distributed a “nomination form", where they will be asked to score each presented project with the score from 1 to 7, focusing on following areas:
- Does the project help to address important problems? (no way=1, for sure=7)
- Does the project helping to solve the problems addressed? (no way=1, for sure=7)
- Does the project have achievable goals and objectives? (no way=1, for sure=7)
- Does the project have an appropriate methodology? (no way=1, for sure=7)
- Does the project have a good rate of cost? Is the project effective? (too expensive=1, appropriate costs=7)
- The project’s overall impression (bad=1, great=7)
The nomination form for each category will include the list of all projects nominated. One project can be nominated in more than one category. The nomination ballots will be collected daily, at the end of projects presentations.
The best IFMSA project poster
The posters of all IFMSA projects will be displayed during the entire General Assembly meeting. The delegates will be asked to vote for the best poster; the project with the highest number of votes will be awarded.
The best IFMSA project
The project with the highest number of awards or nominations will be awarded as the best IFMSA project (for the period September- March 2006).

The Standing Committee on Medical Education
The SCOMEdian of the General Assembly
The member of the Standing Committee on Medical Education will will attend all sessions during the meeting on time will be awarded.
Selection Procedure: IFMSA Standing Committee on Medical Education Co-Directors, will decide on award, based on participants participation in the session.

The Standing Committee on Public Health
The SCOPHian of February 2006
This award has been established within IFMSA Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) since November 2005. The SCOPH server, with several hundreds of subscribers, is an essential tool that facilitates the communication among all IFMSA national and local public health officers. The "SCOPHian of the Month" award is presented at the end of each month to the SCOPH members, who have contributed the most quality material on the server during the preceding month. It is designed to motivate online communication, in particular during periods between the IFMSA General Assembly meetings.
Selection procedure: The SCOPH Co-Directors will decide on the winner, based on the online activity during February 2006.

The Standing Committee on Professional Exchange
The best IFMSA exchange program
This award will be given to the IFMSA National Member Organization that had the best IFMSA exchange program during the last season. Both academic quality of clinical and pre-clinical program and social program part will be taken into consideration.
Selection Procedure: All National Exchange Officers, present in IFMSA General Assembly Meeting will be asked for nomination, in anomynous voting.

The Standing Committee on Research Exchange
The best IFMSA research exchange program
This award will be given to the IFMSA National Member Organization that had the best IFMSA research exchange program during the last season. Both academic quality of research elective and social program part will be taken into consideration.
Selection Procedure: All National Officers on Research Exchange, present in IFMSA General Assembly Meeting will be asked for nomination, in anomynous voting.

Category: Theme event
Best MM2006 theme event
There are several events planned to raise awareness about the United Nations Millenium Development Goal No. 1: To eradicate extreme hunger and poverty during the General Assembly.
All participants will be asked to evaluate the events and select the best MM2006 theme event. The coordinator of this event will be awarded.

Questionaires during the General Assembly
There will be several questionnaires distributed to delegates during the General Assembly. To thank participants for their time and opinion, for each questionnaire one participant will be selected and awarded by book, kindly provided by Lonely Planet and British Medical Journal:
The United Nations Millennium Development Goal No. 1 questionnaire
The MDG-1 questionnaire will be distributed to all General Assembly participants before and after the meeting, to compare knowledge of delegates about the Millennium Development Goals. If participant enters name and the country, one of received questionnaire will be awarded.

Joint session quiz
During the joint session the questionnaire “Refugees – poverty and hunger" will be distributed to all delegates. One participant will be awarded for the questionnaire.

The questionnaire about studentBMJ and IFMSA publications will be distributed to all Assembly participants. One participant will be drawn during the closing ceremony and will get a one-year free subscription to studentBMJ magazine.
