Recommendations from SCORA, SCORP and SCOPH meetings, March Meeting 2002, Kopaonik, updated at the August Meeting 2005, Hurghada, Egypt

Liaison Officers provide the link between IFMSA and outside agencies. IFMSA is in an official relationship with these organizations and collaborates with them on different occasions. How can IFMSA's members make use of these contacts with the partner-agencies?

Possible services for IFMSA members include:

  • Providing the IFMSA members with contacts to the right person within the partner organization.
  • Connecting projects running in the partner organization and in the IFMSA that can benefit from each other.
  • Providing the members of the IFMSA with ideas for new projects based on activities in the partner organizations.
  • Providing the members of the IFMSA with information on projects, events and conferences in the partner organizations.
  • Assisting the IFMSA Executive Board with fundraising. Examples include:
    • To ask for recommendation letters from the partner organization for projects arranged by the IFMSA members.
    • To provide information on grant and funding applications related to partner organizations
    • To facilitate in kind donations such as speakers and materials.
    • To provide reading materials for workshops etc.
  • Providing contacts of regional offices of the partner organization upon request.
  • Updating useful links at www.ifmsa.org.
  • Helping with the PR and publicity of excising projects.
  • Updating the IFMSA on the policies of the partner organization.
  • To assist with abstract submission or attendance to congresses hosted by the partner-agencies.

Possible services for the partner-agencies include:

  • To offer the partner-agencies the IFMSA's student resources.
  • To recommend and promote the IFMSA to the partner organizations and keep them informed about ongoing activities.
  • To provide the agencies with the IFMSA reports and publications.

The possible ways to make use of your liaison officers is not limited to these ideas. These came up during the brainstorms in some of the Standing Committees and we are always open to new suggestions. We try to be as available and visible as possible. We are there for you at meetings, on e-mail and on this web-site, you can find information on the partner-agency as well as a link to their web-sites.

We can not (yet) guess your specific needs, but please do not hesitate to contact us!
